ST. PAUL, Minn. _ Dom Capers of Carolina will win Coach of the Year. If not Capers, then Ray Rhodes of Philadelphia. Each has done a heck of a job with his team, winning more games than anyone expected. But another coach has gone above and beyond _ one nobody thought would survive the season and was so bad off he was on Dr. Kevorkian's list of people to visit.
The doctor's visit would not have been a social call. This coach is doing much better now. He has made a comeback of near-Biblical proportions. Kevorkian, who lives in the same state, will not be visiting anytime soon.
