The first indictments to stem from honorariums paid by McDonald & Company Securities Inc. to Ohio lawmakers were handed down late Thursday against a state senator and a lobbying firm.
A Franklin County, Ohio, grand jury indicted Sen. Eugene Watts, R- Galloway, on a charge of failing to report an honorarium check he received from McDonald in 1993. Also indicted on a charge of falsification was Strussion Consulting Services Inc., a lobbying firm in Columbus that had participated in seminars McDonald held for state lawmakers in 1993.
