Group to explain support of Flavin following court ruling

DCC is to issue a statement detailing its reasons for backing executive chairman Jim Flavin following the Supreme Court ruling that he was in possession of price sensitive information during the sale of the conglomerate's stake in fruit firm Fyffes back in February 2000.

The sale netted a profit of '84m for the company.

The Supreme Court overturned an earlier High Court ruling that he was not in possession of price-sensitive information when the shares were sold.
