ONE of Scarborough's oldest seafront cafes is to be demolished and rebuilt on a neighbouring site based on a nautical theme.
The existing site of the Oasis Snack Bar would then be reinstated as a picnic area, although this will be subject to a separate planning application.
The plan is to pull down the snack bar and replace it with a new cafe with an outside seating area and surfers' changing room area.
The new cafe was given the unanimous go-ahead by Scarborough Council's planning and development committee whose members felt it would be "fantastic for the area".
There will be a two-storey building with a kiosk on the ground floor, covered by a canopy, as well ...
