Hideki Okajima had ventured to the visitors side of the playing field at Fenway Park, standing just feet away from the Kansas City Royals dugout.
At 4:43 p.m., the object of Okajima's semi-clandestine trip into enemy territory appeared. Trey Hillman, a 45-year-old from Texas, had offered a bit of home cooking for the Red Sox reliever.
The meeting was complete with the usual pleasantries as Hillman asked about Okajima's family and living situation, noting how nice it must have been earning championships in both his final Japanese season and his first American season.
