ATLANTA, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- While mainstream apparel sales seem to be flattening out, sporting goods purchasers of apparel and footwear remain remarkably positive. In a worldwide survey of 750 consumers, most respondents did not indicate any significant decrease in spending for 1996. In fact, almost one-quarter of respondents worldwide expect to spend more on sports-related items in 1996.
