NEW YORK -- Innovation and creativity are the key ingredients needed to drive further growth of private label products, says Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) president Brian Sharoff. He and other speakers at the recent PLMA Annual Leadership Meeting and Leadership Conference in Tucson, Ariz., urged manufacturers and retailers to take store brands to the next level.
"In today's hypercompetitive marketplace, private label programs must go beyond the me-too mentality that seldom ventures far from the standards set by the big national brands," Sharoff affirmed.
