Europe's churches and religious communities made a commitment to promote the fight against climate change, at a meeting on 5 May in Brussels between leaders of Europe's main faiths and the presidents of the European Commission, the Council and the European Parliament.
In the presence of some 20 representatives of Christianity, Judaism and Islam, Jose Manuel Barroso explained that it was important to rely on Europe's communities of faith to try to meet the challenges facing the EU.
