We are inspired by the diverse frames of reference represented by the articles of this annual Shakespeare issue--they deal with a wide range of Shakespeare adaptations dating from 1962 to 2006 and one Shakespearean "off-shoot," Tom Stoppard's film Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. What follows is a brief summary of the articles and how they break new ground.
