In his nonchalant, unassuming style, Erik Bedard acknowledged that the Mariners are a disappointed bunch with their performance at the quarter point of the season.
Bedard will try to give the Mariners a rare home win Saturday as he faces the San Diego Padres for the second time in his career, hoping to atone from his porous outing Monday against the Texas Rangers, his worst as a Mariner.
Bedard was shelled for six earned runs and seven hits in two-plus innings in the 13-12 loss in Arlington, Texas. Bedard had reached at least six innings in his previous four outings, but had no explanation for his recent performance.
