The Canadian navy has accepted its first DRS [DRS]-Thales SIRIUS Infrared Search and Track system for integration onto the Halifax-class frigates, according to Thales.
SIRIUS underwent Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) at the Thales site in Hengelo, the Netherlands. The FAT demonstrated that SIRIUS performs as specified, underlining Thales' leading expertise in naval electro-optics world- wide. It further demonstrated Thales' ability to deliver complex Canadian programs on time and within budget, Thales said.
DRS is Thales' partner in the SIRIUS program.
