SENIOR trade union leaders are to try to defuse the industrial relations crisis within Iarnrod Eireann after tourism chiefs warned that the unofficial strike by train drivers will cost the economy millions of euro in lost revenue.
Thousands of commuters, tourists, concert-goers and sports fans experienced a second day of travel misery yesterday as almost 50 rail departures nationwide were hit by the escalating dispute over a driver's refusal to co-operate in new recruit training.
