Winning the Metro League girls' tennis title wasn't that much of a surprise. Taking the Sea-King 3A District crown - the first, as far as Holy Names coach Darren Parsons knows - was a shock.
Now, with four competitors heading to Wenatchee for the 3A state tennis championships, a state banner is within view - and the view is sweet.
"We're keeping our fingers crossed," Parsons said. "That would be a real upset if that happens. That'd be real awesome."
The stars could be aligned for Holy Names, after knocking off league and district foes such as Seattle Prep, Lakeside, Newport and Mercer Island.
