RICHMOND, Calif., Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- LXR Biotechnology Inc. (AMEX: LXR) of Richmond, California, announced today that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued a patent covering Maspin, a tumor suppressor protein in breast tissue. The protein was discovered by a group of scientists headed by Dr. Ruth Sager of The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
