I highly recommend all health care providers read and consider this article. The use of abbreviations and acronyms pertains to every one who works in health care. The article illustrates the grave impact abbreviations and acronyms may have on patient safety. Serious errors and deaths have occurred due to misinterpretation of the abbreviations and acronyms in health care.
