The American Running Association turns 40.

I think my father, Lt. General Richard Bohannon, MD, would be immeasurably grateful and impressed that the tiny organization which he launched in 1968 as the National Jogging Association has survived for 40 years and is, indeed, thriving in its current iteration. I rather think that he would be delightfully surprised and quick to credit the efforts and energies of others, being modest in his own aspirations and pursuing endurance and stamina as guiding principles for himself.
