AMAA Member Jose Tongol, MD, learned from his father when he was just a boy growing up in the Phillipines to always "do something for the community where you live." Now an oncologist in Albany, Georgia, Dr. Tongol also follows the philosophy to "see one, do one, and teach one."
A few years ago, Tongol got involved with a regional Cancer Coalition group to stage a local 5K run. The impetus was all about fitness, and as an oncologist he was committed to imbedding fitness into lifestyle as a means to help prevent cancer and other diseases--and to help raise funds to help cancer patients in the region.
