University's project could change the way doctors work

A revolutionary healthcare education project at the University of Bedfordshire has been awarded research funding of nearly [pounds sterling]1.6 million.

Academics are taking part in a project in partnership with other universities across Europe to create a virtual model of the human body on a range of different scales.

The Virtual Physiological Human will create a complete picture of how a human being functions at different levels, from organ down to cells and even molecules.
