ALBANY - A longtime forensic scientist for the State Police killed himself Friday, marking the second time in less than 10 days that someone connected to the agency has committed suicide.
Garry L. Veeder, 58, of Voorheesville was found dead by hanging in a garage at his home on Scotchpine Drive, authorities said. His body was discovered by a relative, police sources said.
Veeder worked for the State Police for more than 30 years. He had recently submitted papers for his retirement, which was to take effect May 30, according to the state comptroller's office. Veeder had been using leave time since May 7, which was the last ...
