The theme for International Nurses' Day (IND) this year was "Delivering quality serving communities: Nurses leading primary health care (PHC)." I was interested to see in the considerations for a PHC nurse, in the International Council of Nurses' (ICN) toolkit, that general practice wasn't mentioned. In New Zealand, we have a large range of nursing specialities under the umbrella of PHC nurses, the largest contingent of whom are practice nurses.
