The Ministry of Health's advisory committee looking at the second-lever workforce needed to support registered nurses (RNs) intends to have a draft report out for feedback at the end of this month or in early June. The 17-strong committee, with independent chair Candis Craven, and chief nurse Mark Jones as deputy chair, has representatives of directors of nursing, the education sector and Nursing Council, including chair and chief executive Beverly Rayna and Marion Clark respectively. Professional nursing adviser Suzanne Roils is NZNO's representative on the committee.
