Mangere Health Centre's practice nurse Jessie Crawford has become the first ProCare nurse to achieve nurse practitioner (NP) status. She is the 46th NP in New Zealand and one of a growing number with a primary health care (PHC) scope of practice.
Mangere patients are able to book directly with Crawford for their consultations, which have a particular emphasis on chronic care for people with diabetes and sexual health care for young people. Crawford also provides mentorship and education for nurses and other health professionals within ProCare.
