HOUSEHOLDS in the south-east receive more junk mail than anywhere else in the country according to a new survey.
A study by market research firm The REaD Group placed south-east England at the top of its "Junk Mail League Table".
It says the region received an estimated 527 million items of junk mail in the past 12 months.
REaD Group chief executive officer Mark Roy said: "Our commiserations go to south-east residents who could be forgiven for feeling they're drowning in a veritable junk mail tsunami.
"This particular gold medal is an award that no-one wants to win.
