Police investigating a [pounds sterling]7m fraud targeting banks and building societies in West Yorkshire have arrested 14 people.
In the last two days more than 100 officers raided addresses in Leeds and Wakfield in the hunt for the gang behind the scam.
And 25 officers from West Yorkshire have been involved in raids in Barnsley, Harrogate, Manchester, Luton and Milton Keynes.
A total of 21 addresses were targeted. Those arrested were 13 men and one woman, aged between 25 and 35.
Police revealed today that during the searches they recovered suspected stolen cheques with a face value of [pounds sterling]1.9m. A further [pounds ...
