The most recent Action Saskatchewan report card shows a significant increase in the number of people 55 years of age and older who are working in Saskatchewan, noted Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce CEO Steve McLellan. "There are now about 84,000 people 55 or older working in Saskatchewan every month. This is 36 per cent of the population in that age group, up from 30 per cent just five years ago. Furthermore, this trend is likely to continue for several years as our population continues to age."
The report card also shows employment increases among youth, people in rural Saskatchewan and Aboriginal people living off-reserve.
