Announcements heralding millions--and even billions--of dollars in new mining activity have become so commonplace in Saskatchewan that they seem to slip by almost unnoticed. Engineers, however, set off fireworks and hold a parade after every announcement, knowing members of their profession will share about 10 per cent of any mine's total capital cost.
