Hindu group condemns China's decision to defer Kailash yatra
New York, May 29 (PTI) An organisation of Hindus in the US has condemned China's refusal to accept pilgrims intending to make the Kailash Mansarovar yatra before June 21, which has led to deferring of the pilgrimage by nearly two weeks.
The Hindu American Foundation has said Beijing's decision to deny travel visas to Hindus seeking to visit the Tibetan sites in an ancient and important ritual, is "unfortunate." Beginning in June, five to six thousand Hindus from Nepal and India journey to the 22,000-foot Mount Kailash in the Himalayas and nearby Lake Mansarovar annually, it said.
