On Dec. 10, rock history was made when the surviving members of Led Zeppelin reunited in London to perform at a memorial concert for Atlantic Records mastermind Ahmet Ertegun.

Opening for Zep that night was Foreigner, a band that forged a signature arena-rock sound in the mid-'70s and rode it for a remarkable decade of hits into 1987, when the band lodged its last Top 10 hit with "I Don't Want to Live Without You." Only Zeppelin itself sold more music worldwide for Atlantic Records, hence landing Foreigner the opening gig.
