TWELVE primary schools are set for a funding boost in a move aimed at helping pupils in deprived areas.
Primary schools in Hartlepool will see changes in the way [pounds sterling]55m worth of education cash given to Hartlepool Borough Council by the Government is handed out each year.
The Government allocates part of the cash to boost results amongst youngsters from deprived backgrounds and ordered the council to take 10 per cent of the allocation from all schools and redirect the cash based on a deprivation measure.
The changes are aimed at reducing the attainment gap between schools in deprived and affluent areas of the town.
