AUBURN - Sam Le Beau has been pole vaulting for two months, so it should come as no surprise he has yet to reach his full potential.
What is surprising is how the Auburn High senior has displayed a remarkable - albeit unrefined - ability to clear great heights in a single bound. Le Beau's introduction to the pole vault has had its share of expected pitfalls, but he has made steady, upward progress. One descent into the pit came after successfully navigating his way over a bar set at 12 feet.
