VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 3, 1996--SANTA CATALINA MINING (VSE: SLM ) SANTA CATALINA MINING CORP. (the "Company") is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary has signed an exploration agreement with an option to purchase certain claims and concessions known as the Pilar Project, comprised of approximately 2431 hectares (6,000 acres), located near the town of Suaqui Grande, 177 kilometres southwest of Hermosillo, capital of the State of Sonora, Mexico (see location map attached).
The property is within the mineralized belt that includes Eldorado's La Colorada Mine and Placer Dome's Mulatos project.
