The 24 soldiers of the 1st Platoon, Apache Troop, 1st Cavalry Squadron are setting up camp where many hoped they never would be--on a muddy road in hotly contested territory in Bosnia-Herzegovina. A cold rain has been falling all day. As dusk settles, the only light comes from the bombed-out remnants of three or four roadside houses inhabited by Bosnian Serb soldiers who control the area.
