PRINCE WILLIAM is to join the Navy tomorrow and will play a frontlinerole in the war on the international cocaine trade.

The Prince's two-month detachment will take him to the Caribbean to huntdrug-runners.

And he may be issued with a handgun or a rifle for his own protection if hejoins boarding parties, who use highspeed launches to raid suspicious boats.

After three weeks of basic sea training, Sub-Lieutenant William Wales - as hewill be known - will serve for five weeks on the Type 23 frigate HMS Iron Duke,the latest stage in a military career that has seen him deployed in all threeArmed Services.
