STONEHENGE is one of the world's lingering mysteries, with archaeologists speculating that it was a temple made for the worship of ancient earth deities, or an astronomical observatory.
For hundreds of years archaeologists have been researching the origins of the stones. Now radiocarbon dating of human cremation burials at Stonehenge indicates it was a burial place for an elite family, from its beginning to its zenith in the mid-third millennium.
