LOS ANGELES, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Tamio "Tom" Takakura, senior executive vice president and chief operating officer of Sanwa Bank California, today was appointed president and chief executive officer of the Los Angeles-based banking institution, pending board approval on January 10. He succeeds Hiro Nobuhara, who has been promoted to a senior post with Sanwa Bank Ltd. in Japan.
Since his promotion to head of the bank's Office of the President in July, Takakura, 50, has overseen the development and implementation of a new strategic mid-term plan for the bank, which currently ranks as the fifth-largest in the state with $7.7 billion in assets.
