NEW YORK--From rugs at your local 7-Eleven to rugs on QVC, the floorcovering business is breaking into new channels of distribution. Area rug customers are changing channels, and retailers and suppliers are changing right along with them.
"Right now, specialty stores are strong area rug store leaders and national department stores and mass merchandisers are also leaders," notes BrittBeemer, president of America's Research Group, a Charleston, S.C. based research firm. "There are opportunities for growth from all channels of distribution."
