Dhaka, June 3 (UNB)- A prosecution witness (PW) Tuesday admitted the New England Power Company that was denied contract had no past experience in barge-mounted power plant.
Past experience in setting barge-mounted power plant was a pre-condition for the bidders of the tender floated by the Power Development Board (PDB) in winning the contract.
During cross-examination by the defence counsel, PDB additional director Abdul Halim (PW-3) admitted that the New England Power Company did not mention its past experience in such venture. The Company did not attach any certificate of its experience in its request for proposal (tender document).
