Jun. 4--Early results suggested it was Kevin Wynn for the Democrats and Kim Reynolds for the Republicans.
However, after struggling until the wee hours of the morning today, officials at the Iowa Secretary of State's office now say it's Ruth Smith who will challenge Reynolds.
According to current unofficial results, Smith, of Lamoni, and Reynolds, of Osceola, emerged the winners of Tuesday's primary elections to represent their respective parties in a race for Iowa Senate District 48 -- which includes Adams, Clarke, Decatur, Montgomery, Ringgold, Taylor and Union counties.
