Thursday, 11.40am - THREE bronze monkeys, which could have once sat at the base of the marble statue of Samson and a Philistine by Giambologna, will be auctioned in Grantham next month.
Experts are divided on whether the monkeys can be attributed to the Flemish sculptor.
Auctioneer Colin Young says the market will decide.
Mr Young, who has followed the monkeys' story for a decade, is refusing to put an estimate on the bronzes.
He is comparing the sale to the Rembrant sold in Cirencester last year, which auctioneers had to value at [pounds sterling]1,500 after experts dismissed its authenticity, but it sold for [pounds sterling]2.2m.
