Ekowood International Bhd, a producer of solid hardwood flooring, expects production capacity to increase to 25 million square feet a year in the next three years once it completes a factory upgrade.

Chief executive officer Tan Aik Sim said the group needs to increase its production capacity, which now stands at about 17 million sq ft, to keep up with the high demand, particularly from overseas.

The group is looking to expand its export markets especially in east Europe and the Middle East. It recently started exporting products to Russia and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
