`Suites vs. best of breed' no longer sums up the Unix systems management market.
Vendor alignments and integration moves are creating a new landscape.
The either / or argument over which is the best approach to Unix systems management software -- a multifunctional integrated suite or multiple, single-function "point" products -- isn't so clear-cut anymore. Today, the real debate may not center on integrated suites vs. best of breed, but on which approach to integrating systems management tools best meets users' needs.
