Early this year it was reported that the China Tungsten Industry Association had announced that the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) had issued the first batch of tungsten product export quotas to domestic companies for 2008. The announcement raised certain eyebrows in some quarters as www.resourceinvestor.com reported that the figure was down more than 10% when compared with last year's first batch of quotas.
