THE donation of a print by acclaimed artist Arthur Friedensen has raised funds for the restoration of Staithes Memorial Hall.
Rosamund Jordan, of TB & R Jordan Fine Paintings Gallery in Eaglescliffe, Stockton-on-Tees, donated the print of Staithes by the artist as a raffle prize to help raise money for the restoration.
Mrs Jordan, who owns the gallery, showcases paintings by the Staithes Group, and recently displayed some of their work in Whitby's Pannett Park Gallery.
Friedensen, who himself lived in Staithes for more than six years, was deemed by Winston Churchill as "second only to John Constable as a landscape painter", captured the fishing ...
