Nobody hated the 1980s more than Brian Henson, with the possible exception of Kermit the Frog.
To Henson, that decade was about greed and pessimism and suspicion and competition. That is not an atmosphere in which Muppets thrive.
``I couldn't wait for the '80s to end, and I'm really encouraged by the mood of the country right now,'' said Henson, who not only runs the empire started by his late father, Jim Henson, but also directed the latest Muppet big-screen adventure, ``Muppet Treasure Island,'' which opens Friday.
