PHILADELPHIA _ Veterans Stadium is a dump, the Eagles' locker room and weight room represent the way the NFL used to be and the Birds' practice facility wouldn't impress a high school senior being recruited by a Division III college.
The negatives are large where the Eagles and free-agent recruitment are concerned.
Several player agents, however, say that despite the drawbacks, the Ray Rhodes Eagles have become an attractive option for unrestricted free agents whose contracts expire at midnight Thursday.
In his first season as Eagles coach, that might have been Rhodes's biggest achievement: making Philadelphia a desirable place for free-agent talent.
