The Honourable Michael M Fortier, Minister of Public Works and Government Services, on behalf of the Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, today announced that municipalities within the Montreal Region will receive federal Gas Tax funding to support environmentally sustainable municipal infrastructure that contributes to cleaner air, water and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

The Minister also noted that the permanent Gas Tax Fund means that all Montreal Region municipalities will continue to enjoy stable, long-term funding for their public infrastructure projects.
