CLINTON - Next week, the Board of Selectmen will decide whether to sign off on a 27-page conservation restriction for the Wekepeke Reservoir, which is owned by Clinton, but located in Sterling and Leominster. If the board votes "no," the town will be denied a $353,600 state grant to lower the cost of the $2.7 million, 62-acre Rauscher property.
The specifics of the conservation restriction are unknown to the public, as it has only been discussed in detail in closed executive sessions. Selectmen would like to close on the Rauscher property by July 1, and thus secure the $353,600 grant. However, the grant stipulates that all unfinished ...
