LEOMINSTER - A petition regarding city water rates will likely draw a good deal of attention at the City Council meeting tomorrow night. A public forum, at which anyone can speak about anything on the agenda, will be held at 7:45 p.m., with the meeting to follow at 8 p.m., in City Council chambers, City Hall, 25 West St.
The petition seeks to raise the water-use rates by a total of 80 cents over three years: from $2.15 to $2.35 per unit, effective July 1; from $2.35 to $2.60 per unit, effective July 1, 2009; and from $2.60 to $2.95 per unit, effective July 1, 2010.
