EXXON MOBIL'S jubilant executives and shareholders are obviously growing weary of listening to the company's resident party poopers, the descendants of John D. Rockefeller.
In recent weeks, 73 of the oil mogul's 78 adult descendants -- who together own roughly 1 percent of the company's stock -- have been waging a quixotic battle to restructure Exxon Mobil's upper management and force it to focus on the research and development of renewable energy sources.
Neva Rockefeller Goodwin, an economist at Tufts University, told fellow shareholders at the company's annual meeting that her family is "seriously concerned about the future of Exxon" despite its record $40 billion ...
