FORMER US President Bill Clinton used his upbringing in the bigoted Deep South to help Northern Ireland find peace.
America's 41st president likened suspicions between nationalists and unionists with the politics of his own childhood.
In an interview with BBC's Stephen Nolan to be broadcast tonight, he said: "I was raised in an environment like that. Growing up in the American south I saw the civil rights movement come to fruition when I was a young man.
